A $100,000 reward, funded by the WA Government, is now available for information that leads to the
identification and conviction of the person or persons responsible for damage caused to a Western
Power transmission tower in Pinjar, which was detected on Thursday 20 April 2023.
At an unknown time, believed to be on or in the days leading up to Thursday 20 April 2023, unknown
person(s) have tampered with the structural integrity of the tower causing it to fall to the ground.
The incident caused a temporary power supply interruption to a small number of industrial customers.
State Security Investigation Group detectives continue to investigate the incident and believe the new
reward may motivate people with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
A WA Police Force spokesperson said the significant reward on offer may not only assist with solving the
crime, but could also be life-changing for the person who provides the crucial information needed.
“The $100,000 reward is a significant amount of money, and could be life-changing for whoever has the
crucial piece of information to help solve this case.
“At a time when so many people a feeling financial pressures, to have such a large amount of money
appear in your bank account would no doubt make life easier.
“Now is the time to come forward with information. Now is the time to make the right decision, and not
only help police solve this crime, but also help yourself in the process. It is not every day $100,000 is
available.”
