At around 3.45pm on Wednesday 15 May 2024, an unknown man entered a hardware shop on Alexander Road in Belmont. The man headed towards the battery aisle where he grabbed an 18V battery and a socket set. He concealed the items in his pants and his shoulder bag before exiting the store making no attempts to pay.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as: medium build, light skinned, with light stubble. The man was wearing a white top, dark pants, brown work boots, a white cap, black sunglasses and a black shoulder bag.
